All the medications that we take for granted have once been the subject of clinical trials, which are a necessary part of the testing process for every new drug. For this reason, CCRA is continually bringing in new studies and conducting them. These studies offer the public a no-cost opportunity to receive clinical care and include free medical and psychiatric evaluations.

Dr. Norman Rosenthal supervises these clinical trials at the CCRA offices in the North Bethesda/Rockville area. Patients who come into these trials will meet with trained clinicians in private offices. A thoroughly trained research coordinator supported by the medical staff will walk each patient through the consent process. Every aspect of the study including risks and benefits to the participant will be explained. Doctors will be available to answer medical questions. All participants will have as much time as needed to study and consider the consent form before signing it. Those who are eligible for studies will receive diagnostic evaluations, physical examinations, laboratory work and ECGs. If all goes well with these examinations, the person can participate in the study.
